Creating An App To Help Communities In Need

Apollo’s Girls Who Code started right before the pandemic and this year we are creating an app/website where our local nonprofits can list items they need and the community members can access this to determine where they would like to donate their items. We discovered this was a great need since Kentucky had two natural disasters recently due to a major tornado that ripped through 1/2 our state and the other side had major flooding. Many people wanted to donate but didn’t know what was needed and who to contact. With this resource we would be proactive and have a place for everyone to use as needed. With this funding we can use it for field trips about coding and use it to help if there is a financial need in our project.
